Commissioned by James Drakeford to develop his branding, starting with a business card design that reflects his diverse creative roles—from photographer and consultant to social strategist, event coordinator, educator, stylist, and retail buyer—I eagerly embraced the opportunity. Guided by his short but encouraging words, "Just do your thing," I delved into researching his impressive portfolio.

INSPIRATION

Inspired by James's collaborative A-8SC project between Sole Classics and Vans, where he served as director and photographer, I kept the color palette timeless black-and-white, with dynamic typography with bold color blocking, mirroring the distinctive quality of his film photography.

DESIGN

Prioritizing his photography expertise, I designed a visual hierarchy using clean lines and iconography across the various titles, resulting in a distinctive and versatile business card that not only showcases his multifaceted skill set but also celebrates his unique achievements and contributions.

OUTCOME

The thoughtful design not only elevates James's brand but also resonates with his target audience, effectively communicating his diverse expertise and leaving a lasting impression that reinforces his reputation as a creative leader in the industry.
